Govan Law Centre (GLC) is delighted to announce a series of senior promotions that strengthens the vital and first class legal services that we provide across Glasgow and Scotland, free at the point of delivery for our clients.
Andrew Fyffe, Senior Solicitor, has been appointed Head of our national Education Law Unit (ELU) and has joined GLC’s Senior Management Team;
Charis Brooks, Solicitor, has been appointed Lead for our national Let’s Talk project within ELU which is a Scotland-wide statutory service for children and young people with additional support needs funded by the Scottish Government; and
Sophie Berry, Solicitor, has been promoted as Lead of the Women’s Rights Project at GLC, which provides unique legal services to women and children facing homelessness and experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
Andrew Fyffe said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Senior Management Team and taking on an enhanced role as Head of the Education Law Unit. We’ve had a record breaking year in terms of caseload and enquiries and I’m looking forward to building on the strong work we do promoting the rights of children and young people in Scotland with additional support needs”.
Charis Brooks said: “As Project Lead for Let’s Talk, I’m committed to strengthening our work in guiding families through complex education issues. Working within the Education Law Unit gives me the chance to help create meaningful change by offering clear, reliable, and compassionate support”.
Sophie Berry said: “It has been a real privilege to work with my brilliant colleagues on the Women’s Rights Project over the last four years, and I’m very grateful to have been appointed Project Lead, and delighted for Charis and Andrew on their well-deserved promotions in the ELU”.
