Rachel Moon & Lorna Walker win Legal Champion Award at the 2025 Scottish Legal Awards

Govan Law Centre (GLC) is proud and delighted to announce that two of our senior solicitors have been recognised for their outstanding legal work and commitment to social justice at the 2025 Scottish Legal Awards.

GLC’s Rachel Moon and Lorna Walker won the prestigious Legal Champion Award at the Scottish Legal Awards, which took place in Glasgow last evening (18 September 2025).

Rachel Moon, Partner at GLC and Head of Govanhill Law Centre said:

“It was a real honour to receive this award on stage at the Law Awards. It’s a privilege to do this job and to work with fantastic colleagues and inspiring clients. It was particularly special to share it with Lorna for whom I have so much respect”.

Lorna Walker, Senior Solicitor and Head of Prevention of Homelessness Services said:

“I feel truly honoured to accept this award. It is such a privilege to work at Govan Law Centre using the law every day to tackle social injustices and help people. Sadly, there is a marked increase in rough sleeping and people left in unsuitable accommodation for months, sometimes years, and as a result, I am very much aware there is always more to do. We are committed to helping as many hard-to-reach people as possible, to ensure their legal rights are met and we will continue to adapt our services to meet this growing demand. I always feel inspired by colleagues and partner organisations. Thank you to our Principal Solicitor, Mike Dailly for nominating Rachel Moon and I. Thank you to the judging panel.”
