Fuel poverty continues to affect households across Scotland. High energy costs, low incomes, rising household expenses and energy-inefficient homes can make it difficult for people to afford adequate heating.
Govan Law Centre’s new Energy Advice Service is being rolled out initially for residents in Glasgow’s G51, G52, G53, G43, G44, G45 & G5 postcode areas. Contact help@govanlc.com or call 0800 043 0306 to request an appointment. You can download our Energy Advice flyer as a PDF by clicking on the image below.

Energy bills can be confusing, expensive and stressful but support is available. With our Energy Adviser, here’s how we can help:
How our energy service is currently supporting vulnerable customers, case example: Our client has ongoing issues with their smart meter, which was not displaying readings despite being switched on. An engineer was due to inspect the meter but failed to attend. Our client was also facing reported arrears of over £2k, which was disputed, believing the balance may have been affected by the issuing of a new pre-payment card and payments not being transferred correctly. GLC’s energy service is helping by raising the matter with the gas supplier to request clarification of the meter readings, payment history and outstanding balance, as well as seeking appropriate compensation for the missed engineer appointment.
