Free money advice clinic in Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre

Friday 16 November 2018 Govan Law Centre’s Prevention of Homelessness Service and G Heat Glasgow (the Wise Group) will deliver a money, debt and energy advice clinicAt Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre 6 Daisy Street Govanhill Glasgow G42 8JL from 11am to 3pm.

It is part of Talk Money Week, which  is an opportunity to reduce the stigma around money by encouraging conversations among families, friends, colleagues and children.

Combined with each year in the UK when at least three quarters of households get an unexpected bill, yet 12.9m adults have no accessible savings to fall back on.

Our initiative aims to offer solutions to improving financial wellbeing with practical help around regular saving, avoiding credit and increasing access to debt advice. The aim is to reduce stress about finances, take control of everyday spending and cope with unexpected expenses. With 6.4m adults in the UK having to borrow regularly to buy food or pay bills our experienced and knowledgeable advisors can provide vital help to address these money worries.

Independent advice on energy related issues will also be available from GHeat. Marion Tominey, Team Leader said about the service “GHEAT offers impartial and expert energy-related support to households within Glasgow. Our service involves the provision of tailored, in-depth support for households in fuel poor areas and drives behavioural change to enable customers to take control of their energy usage and reduce their bills on a sustainable basis.
